Chiropractic Treatment is a hands-on conservative approach for treating musculoskeletal conditions. Many people are familiar with chiropractic care for issues such as low back pain; however there is much more that a chiropractic visit can do for you. Chiropractors are extremely well trained in radiology, nutrition, functional rehabilitation, workplace ergonomics as well as having an expert knowledge of how to treat musculoskeletal conditions involving pediatric and geriatric patients.
In today’s society many of our jobs demand long hours of standing or sitting at a desk, this can cause acute pain or lead to chronic pain issues down the road. Another concern is spinal joint dysfunctions from constant overuse injuries or postures. Postural dysfunction and repetitive use injuries arise over time and are present long before pain is ever experienced. Symptoms include but are not limited to; sciatica, headaches, upper and lower backache, neck ache; shoulder pain and even burning sensations just to name a few. Chiropractic care can also help treat acute conditions such as motor vehicle accidents, sprains, strains, as well as most extremity injuries.

Research continues to show that healing and recovery times are greatly improved with chiropractic care as well as being a great way to help facilitate the body’s natural healing process and restore spinal nerve function without the use of prescription medication. People can all benefit from varied degrees of chiropractic care; each treatment is tailored to fit the individual’s age, specific conditions and concerns.

Chiropractors are extremely well trained and are experts in treating and diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions. All chiropractic doctors receive a minimum of seven years education with four years of their study dedicated specifically to a 4500 classroom hour doctor of chiropractic program, of which two years are also involved in completing a clinical internship under one or more attending physicians. Chiropractors use manual spinal manipulation or “adjusting” to restore proper alignment to the spinal or extremity joints.

Involving Chiropractic care as an integral part of your health team will assist you in your recovery as well as give you the confidence to live your life without the worry of pain or discomfort slowing you down.

Acupuncture is an alternative medicine that treats patients by insertion and manipulation of needles in the body. It is used to encourage natural healing, reduce/relieve pain, improve mood, and overall to promote general health.

The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that bodily functions are regulated by an energy called ‘qi’, which flows through the body. Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for disease. Acupuncture is a procedure that aims to correct imbalances in the flow of qi by stimulation of anatomical locations on or under the skin (these are the specific acupuncture points or ‘acupoints’).

The most common mechanism of stimulation of acupuncture points is via penetration of the skin by thin metal needles, which are manipulated manually or by electrical stimulation.
